Hello Autumn!

Well, what a year it has been. Difficult, unpredictable and downright scary.

But also - for some - freeing, life-affirming, and even joyful.

I hope, for you and yours, it has been more of the latter.

DoodlePippin has had a pretty good 2020, considering.

Yes, all my normal fairs, shows and millefiori workshops had to be cancelled.

Yes, the Surrey Guild of Craftsmen gallery (which is where most of my one-of-a-kind pieces end up) was forced to shut.

And yes, my husband and I ended up homeschooling our boys (10 and 13) for nearly five months (I doubt anyone will remember that fondly!).

But... on the upside, lots of people have used lockdown to invest in their homes and gardens.

And to support artists and craftspeople like me in doing so.

For which, I am VERY grateful :-)

It means I've been able to invest in new equipment and supplies, and to sort some of those niggling jobs around the studio
(only I could get excited about new shelves!)

I've even hired my first ever Studio Assistant
(her name's Jude, and she's amazing).
